William H. Taft is a powerful candidate---even though he only served 1 term in office (1908-1912). Many have complained that beating him is a very hard task that takes determination, and all that weird stuff. My easy guide to beating Taft is finally here. After experimenting with the extremely talented Bill Clinton, and Mr. G. from Texas, I was able to win. First of all, create a V.P candidate from Texas if you hope to win anything big. I was losing Texas in the game I played until Mr. G came along. It gave me boosts in New Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. This was very evident in the end result of the election. Also, spend some turns getting 6 political capital, and beating Taft to the U.S. Chamber of Business. It is very important that you get this endorsement---it is pretty evident. Also, as it does with most candidates, getting a few others like the Assoc. of Women, Colored People, Environment, and Civil Rights also prove important in winning. Start in 'big' places like California, Florida, and New York. Also, make sure you win PA and OH. They can prove very hefty with there load of 20 and 21 electoral votes.
Occasionally accuse Taft with the most important issues. It proves important, once again. Use spin doctors & smear merchants in states where you are losing by 1 or 2 points. Don't focus on the states where you are losing by 15-20 points. Colorado, and Arizona are very important as well. Though they prove Republican in the beginning, they become good states to win with 9 and 10 electoral votes.
