Beating Lincoln was extremely hard. I was able to win the electoral vote: 271/266. It was brutal. It was quite a fight. First, I had to set-up headquarters in places like California, Texas, New York, and Florida. I focused on those states, created ads, and had leads early. Then, I quickly went for the endorsements and political operatives in many states. I made sure that I had leads in most of the Nor-eastern states such as Mass., PA, and others. Usually, most candidates go for Pa in the beginning, but I fought to get it. When I had extra money on my hand (make sure you do some big fundraising a lot of the time when you make your bi-weekly trips to big states), I went to Illinois and other 'big' states (with 10-30 electoral) and fought. It was hard in Illinois (because it is Lincoln's homestate). In the end, he went hard on me, but he went hard on things like The War on Terror and Outsourcing Jobs, and stuff like that. At one point, I was leading him over 300 electoral votes. But, I had to fight for California, because he was beating me with all those ads. Make sure you make a lot of ads. Make bi-weekly trips to big states. Doing all these things can help you. Please note that I didn't win the popular vote, but if you fight harder than I did in ads, then you might be able to get the popular vote. I might be back with a George Washington strategy.
